Meet Our Founder
Our founder, Daniel Schmitz, brings comprehensive experience in environmental health, safety, regulatory compliance, and security across maritime, industrial, healthcare, and high-risk operational environments.
His background includes a career with the U.S. Coast Guard, working in maritime safety and security, port state control and law enforcement, where he conducted inspections, boardings, and enforcement activities under MTSA, ISPS, OPA 90, Ports and Waterways Safety Act, and international safety and security standards. He has worked directly with vessel operators, port facilities, and regulated entities to assess compliance, identify risk, and implement corrective actions that withstand regulatory scrutiny.

Daniel has gained extensive experience developing and supporting EHS programs, hazardous materials compliance, emergency preparedness, and workplace safety initiatives. His approach emphasizes practical, defensible solutions aligned with real-world operations and inspection expectations.
Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Management, an Associate of Science in Biology, extensive Incident Command System training, ISO 9001/14001/45001 Lead Auditor certificates, and ISPS/ISM/MLC Lead Auditor certificates. He also earned an Associate Health and Safety Manager Certification from the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management.
