Frequently Asked Questions

What types of organizations do you work with?

We work with organizations operating in regulated or high-risk environments, including manufacturing, healthcare, logistics and warehousing, chemical handling, maritime and port operations, and small to mid-sized businesses with and without in-house EHS or security staff.

What makes Anchor Compliance & Security different from other consultants?

Our approach is informed by real-world regulatory and enforcement experience. We focus on practical, defensible compliance solutions that align safety, security, and operations—so programs not only meet requirements, they also hold up during inspections and audits.

Do you provide project-based services or ongoing support?

Both. We offer flat-fee, project-based services such as audits, assessments, and plan development, as well as ongoing retainer support for organizations that need continuous EHS and security guidance without hiring full-time staff.

Do you work with small businesses, or only large organizations?

We support organizations of all sizes. Many of our clients are small to mid-sized operations that need expert compliance support but cannot justify a full-time EHS or security position.

Are your services specific to state regulations?

No. We specialize in both federal and state-specific requirements.  Our program development goals are to create solutions that align with federal agencies, such as OSHA, EPA, and USCG, as well as state agencies, such as Cal/OSHA, Cal/EPA, SB 553 workplace violence prevention, NFPA and state fire code requirements, and state maritime regulations.

We also support clients operating in other states outside of California on a project or subcontract basis.

Do you offer workplace violence prevention services?

Yes. We develop Cal/OSHA-compliant Workplace Violence Prevention Programs (WVPP), provide training, conduct security risk assessments, and assist with incident response and documentation in line with SB 553 requirements.

Can you help prepare for inspections or audits?

Yes. We routinely help clients prepare for OSHA, Cal/OSHA, CUPA, fire department, Coast Guard, and other regulatory inspections. This includes pre-inspection readiness reviews, corrective action planning, and audit-style assessments.

Do you provide maritime security and Port State Control support?

Yes. We provide maritime security compliance services including MTSA and ISPS compliance support, Facility and Vessel Security Plan reviews, drills and exercises, and Port State Control (PSC) pre-inspections to help operators prepare for U.S. Coast Guard boardings.

While we do not provide security staffing services, we can assist with onboarding and training security teams.

Do you provide on-site services, or can work be done remotely?

Many services include on-site components such as inspections, assessments, and training. Some services—such as document reviews, policy development, select training, and advisory support—can be provided remotely, depending on scope and client needs.

While we do not provide security staffing services, we can assist with onboarding and training security teams.

How is pricing structured?

Pricing is typically provided as a flat project fee based on scope, regulatory requirements, and deliverables. This provides predictable costs and avoids hourly billing surprises. Retainer pricing is available for ongoing support.

Do you offer emergency or short-notice support?

Yes, subject to availability. We understand that incidents, inspections, or regulatory issues can arise unexpectedly and can provide expedited support when needed.

Are you insured?

Yes. We carry appropriate professional and general liability coverage. Certificates of insurance can be provided upon request.

How do we get started?

The first step is providing information via our contact page or by emailing us to schedule a brief introductory call to understand your operations, regulatory obligations, and goals. From there, we provide a clear scope of work and proposal tailored to your needs.

Do you subcontract work to other consultants?

When appropriate, we may engage qualified subcontractors to support specialized services or geographic coverage. All work is performed under our standards and reviewed to ensure consistency and quality
